Who we are
Velodrome Sense™ is provided by Zed Werks Inc., British Columbia, Canada (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Velodrome Sense mobile app and this website. For privacy questions or requests, use our support form.
Information used by the app
The app does not require an account. We do not sell personal information, use advertising trackers, or include third-party advertising in Velodrome IQ.
- Timing and gearing: gear inventory, saved session settings, and custom tracks are stored on your device. Timing information is processed on your device; when you pair a display, session details and lap times are sent to that device over Bluetooth. These records are not uploaded to a Zed Werks account or server.
- Location: with your permission, the app uses your current location while in use to select the nearest velodrome from its track list. Coordinates are processed on your device, not sent to us. The selected track may be saved. You can deny location access and choose a track manually.
- Camera: with your permission, the camera scans a pairing QR code on a display device. Camera images are not saved or uploaded by the app.
- Bluetooth: the app discovers and connects nearby timing and display devices. Pairing identifiers, event and track details, and timing messages are exchanged to provide that connection. Pair only with devices you trust.
Updates and beta testing
The app uses Expo’s update service to check for and download compatible app updates. Network requests disclose an IP address and technical information such as platform and app runtime version to the update provider. This service is separate from your locally stored timing and gearing information. See Expo’s privacy policy.
If you use a beta version distributed through Apple TestFlight or Google Play testing, the platform may collect testing, diagnostic, and feedback information under its own policies and your settings. We may receive crash reports or feedback made available to developers and use it to investigate problems and improve the app. See Apple’s TestFlight privacy information and Google’s privacy policy.
Website and support requests
When you contact us, we receive the name, email address, subject, and message you provide, along with any information you choose to send in later correspondence. We use this information to answer questions, troubleshoot issues, and handle privacy requests.
Cloudflare hosts this website and processes network information, including IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver and protect it. Our support form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to detect automated submissions. Cloudflare processes browser and device signals to verify requests. Microsoft processes the resulting support email through our mail service. We do not use this website for advertising or cross-site behavioral tracking.
Provider information: Cloudflare and Microsoft.
Sharing and security
Information is shared with service providers as described above to deliver updates, operate the website, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and security. We use HTTPS for website and service communications and restrict access to support correspondence. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Providers may process information outside your province or country, including in the United States, where privacy laws may differ.
Retention and deletion
Locally saved app information remains on your device until removed using available app controls or by deleting the app’s data. Device backups may retain copies according to your Apple or Google backup settings; uninstalling does not necessarily remove those backups.
We keep support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to resolve and follow up on your request, maintain relevant support records, or meet legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time by contancting us using the support form. Any information that must be retained for legal or security reasons is limited to what is necessary. Service providers retain their operational records under their applicable policies.
Your choices and rights
You can change camera, location, and Bluetooth permissions in device settings. Some related features may then be unavailable. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or raise a privacy concern, by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We cannot access or delete app records stored solely on your device.
Children
Velodrome Sense™is intended for a general track-cycling audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through support. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app or our practices change. The current version will be available on this page with an updated effective date. We will provide additional notice or request permission when required.
